I'm assuming that i should hear the metronome clicks as the notation is scrolling, including the count off? I only hear the playback notes being played with no metronome clicks.

I have checked the click and countoff AND Playback/Record Options which is set by default.

1. MIDI/Audio (upper text menu) -> Click & Countoff -> set for example, as follows.

Countoff: Never
Click: While Playing
Measures: 0 (N/A)
Source: Finale Click
Down Beats: 127
Other Beats: 100

Optionally you can choose "Source" as a "MIDI note. For
a distinct beat, the sound of the metronome needs to be
pitched above or below your music. Below are a few
suggestions that are less piecing than the standard clicks.
A different instrument can be used for the "other" beats.
The Open Triangle (#81) used in mechanical metronomes
is too weak in Finale

36 Kick Drum
37 Snare Cross Stick
38 Snare Drum
39 Hand Clap
42 HH Closed
56 Cowbell
61 High Bongo
67 High Agogo
76 High Woodblock

Note that Channel 10 is Finale's default for percussion.

2. OK.
