Finale 2011 for Mac, OS 10.6.8
Just installed this version (an upgrade) this summer. So far so good, after solving some font problems during install.
MY QUESTION: Previous versions of Finale defaulted to locating backup files in the same folder as the master file, but F2011 locates them in Documents / Finale Files / Backups. Tried Program Options/Folders prefs, but no choice to locate backups in the same folder as the original, only a choice of a given folder. I much prefer having backups in the same folder as the master file for a project. Is there a way to set it as default, rather than having to constantly move it from a different backup folder?

If you go to the Program Options - Folders, and do not select a folder for backups, then Finale does not have a folder for backups.

And (I think that) Finale will store the backup file in the same folder as the master file.

I unchecked "Backup Files" but kept "Auto-Save" & tried with a file. You're correct: a .bak file appeared in the folder with the main file. Many thanks.
