I just downloaded PrintMusic 2014 and installed it. Installation seem to go well, but when I attempt to run the program it won't open--the icon just bounces and I eventually have to "Force Quit" it. I'm using a Mac running OS 10.9.2 with 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 8 GB of memory.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!
I would contact the folks at MakeMusic’s Tech Support.
A problem like the one you are describing, has a lot to do with the specific hardware components in your setup.
An example:
Do you have a computer screen with built-in microphone?
There have been reports about conflicts between version 2014 and monitors with built-in microphone.

You might also try creating a new user account on your computer, and trying the installation there. This is a test, not a cure! If it works there, you will know that something in your user account is conflicting.

I contacted MakeMusic's Tech Support but have not had any suggestions from them. I do have a computer screen with a built-in mic. It's a late 2009 iMac and that was standard. Seem like that would be a deal-breaker on a large scale and something would have been done about it by now.Peter Thomsen wrote:Welcome to the forum!

At your suggestion I tried that, but it didn't work. Thanks anyway.miker wrote:You might also try creating a new user account on your computer, and trying the installation there. This is a test, not a cure! If it works there, you will know that something in your user account is conflicting.

I had not. And by "off" I assume you mean "mute" it. So I tried muting all the sound inputs and still Finale 2014 would not launch.miker wrote:Did you make sure that the mic is off?
Thanks anyway. I had not thought of that.

I have nothing left to suggest. Please send this on to tech support. The more info they can gather, the better.

Joe R at MakeMusic solved the problem. I had an iSight camera (which contains a mic) plugged in to my iMac. All I had to do was unplug the iSight and PrintMusic functioned perfectly.
Thanks for your help here at FinaleForum. I should have pursued your idea that a mic could be the problem more thoroughly.
