The latest update has definitely made Finale 25 much better.
Yet I have still problems with Speedy Entry, which is significantly slower than on other versions (Finale 2011 and previous) and is very difficult working with. I use extended Apple keyboard and have tried three other keyboards (all wired) without improvement.
Someone who can help? Maybe wrong settings or wrong preferences?

There have been only few user reports about slowness in v25’s Speedy Entry Tool.
I suspect that the culprit is specific for your hardware/software combination.
You might get more help if you also ask in the forums on MakeMusic’s web site.
For instructions on, how to get there, read in this thread:

...For all the others that came here to look what you could do about it, try reinstalling. That solved the issue for me.
I also played around with AU's Garritan yes or no, Smart music or quicktime, and MIDI Thru on/off, it did have an impact on how slow it was, but like I said, reinstalling (from a freshly downloaded installer) is king.
Bam.

It often helps to quit and restart Finale, especially if it has been running for some time. I'd try this first; it's certainly quicker than reinstalling!

Many apps and plugs have memory leaks. If doing this helps (and it does for many), adding more RAM to your machine will make this less of an issue. I find that rebooting daily is a big help for the same reason.Vaughan wrote:It often helps to quit and restart Finale, especially if it has been running for some time. Mac users can run the following command in Terminal. sudo purge It requires an admin password so can't be done without being logged in as administrator. Again, if it helps, install more RAM if you can.
In my case, going from 20g to 32g made a huge difference with Finale and a few other applications.
