I read somewhere that it was possible to use some old plug-ins on new Finale versions... Does anybody know if I can use the Finale 2012 "Composer's Assistant" plugin on Finale 2014.5, and where to find a download? Please. Thank you so much!

I could not find where to download the plug-in, but I did find evidence that the plug-in will work on Finale 2014.5. It will not work in Finale 25 or later.

If you still have Finale 2012 installed, you might be able to simply copy it to Finale 2014.5:
  • Find Finale 2012 plug-ins folder (/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 2012/Plug-ins)
  • Find the Composer's Assistant plug-in (will be a .bundle file)
  • Copy (cmd+c)
  • Go to the Finale 2014.5 plug-ins folder (/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 2014.5/Plug-ins)
  • Paste inside the folder where you want to access the plug-in (cmd+v, will correspond with the menu bar)
  • Restart Finale 2014.5
I don't have Finale 2012 to test if this works. Hope this helps!

Dear Nick,
Thank you very much for your help and response! Yes! I found a copy of my Finale 2011 on an old backup external harddrive and copied and pasted the plug-in and it does seem to work :) Thank you again!
Best regards and wishes,
Albert

I remember seeing them but never put them to use.

I have my copy of 2011 installed on an El Capitán test drive. Hmmmm....
