Hi

I'm presently working on a guitar tab piece but I came across a small problem when editing the Chord Definition window

In the Chord Definition window I press Edit to enter in the fretboard Editor. On the left side under fretboard there's two colums the right one being the number 1 - 2- 3 - 4 - T which are used to indicates the fret number used for the fingers. But unfortunately what about if you have a finger on fret number 5 or any higher numbers than four to show on the bottom of each string as indicated in the attachment below.

Please can someone help me with this or is there any other way to do this?

Your help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Those are the finger numbers, not the fret numbers. If you want to show more than 4 frets, increase the number. The default is 4. Type 5 in the box to show 5 frets.

P.S.: Is the attached what you want?

P.P.S. Unless you have a thumb and 5 fingers, the 5 makes no sense. 4 represents the pinky. What would 5 stand for?

No problem to indicate the fret number

What I want to display is the number at the bottom of each string the fret number like in the example but I can I indicate 5 if the number is not present in the fretboard Editor?

I guess I'm more confused than ever. Wouldn't it be better to just add the 5th fret the way I did in my picture? Then you don't need any numbers.

I don't see your attachment.

If you look at the attachment I've sent on my first request you will see at the bottom of the diagram numbers which indicates the fret numbers where fingers are its good if you use only 4 frets but many chords have to be played at the 5 or higher frets so How could I number the fret at the bottom of the diagram if the numbers are not listed in under fretboard right columm? Hope this will help you to understand what I'm trying to achieved. If I change fret number that won't give me the right number at the bottom of the diagram either since if I have fingers on the 6th fret I still can't number them as in the attachment I've sent.

Your example shows fret 3 (3 fr.) at the top on the right. Do you want to change that?

The numbers are there for fingers, not frets. if you want to have higher numbers, you can't do it in the fretboard designer. You'll have to add them as text in the document, manually.

Yes I have tried what you have suggested and it works fine. Hope that the number I have added stay there if I change something on my sheet music hope they stick to their fretboard.

If it's simple a matter of having the indicated notes at fret 5, the easier way is as in the attached. My calculation is that it represents a Bbm chord. Am I missing something?
