I recently upgraded to Finale 26 for Mac (High Sierra) and didn't realize that my GPO5 and various 3rd party plug-ins would not automatically copy over from Finale 25. I eventually figured out how to get the GPO5 working, but have had no success finding or installing the plug-ins. Are there step-by-step instructions somewhere? I'm very grateful for any help you can provide.

That would depend on which 3rd party plugins you used. You can get the JW plugins at http://www.finaletips.nu/

TG Tools at https://www.tgtools.com/

The plug-ins from the previous version are probably still there. I don't know from the Mac, but search for files whose name ends in .fxt. In Finale's Preferences, Folders section, there's a setting pointing to the directory that contains the plug-ins. If you found the old .fxt files you can copy them to that directory. Be careful not to overwrite files that are already there--they may be new and improved versions.

FYI, the suffix .fxt is not used in the Mac version of plug-ins.

Is there some other way of finding files of that type?

There is a Mac suffix : .bundle.

You just need to copy the plug-ins from:
/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale/Plug-ins

to:

/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 26/Plug-ins

For GPO, you probably just need the GPO.soundmap file in the Data subfolder at the same location.

I'm on Mac and I had JW plugins working in Finale 25.

After installing Finale 26 I re-downloaded several JW Plugins from the folder noted early in this post (I'm new and not allowed to post URLs yet) and unzipped them. In Finale Preferences I checked the default folder for Plugins and it is

Macintosh HD > LIbrary > Application Support > MakeMusic > Finale 26 > Plug-ins

Without changing that setting I closed Finale, created a subfolder called "JW Tools" and copied the JW package files into that new subfolder. When I open Finale I see the "JW Tools" sub-menu in the Plug-ins menu but none of the JW plugins are listed. In Finder I can see all of the other package files that came with Finale, in their various subfolders, and I can see the JW plugins that I added, but they don't appear in Finale.

Did anyone else experience this problem? Did you find a way to fix it?

The JW plug-ins you said you re-downloaded, are they the 64 bit versions ? They are here : http://www.finaletips.nu/index.php/down ... c-plug-ins.
Install the files ending with .bundle, not the zipped files.

Ah, I had NOT downloaded the 64 bit versions. Thank you, Michelp!
I made the mistake of just following the "And here are the Mac versions of the plugins" when I should have gone to the main download folder instead.
