I am wondering how useful the file information window (Finder:File>Get Info) actually is. E.g., for the document I'm currently working on, the window says "Tempo:69", but it really isn't. The starting tempo is 208 and nowhere in the document is 69. It also says "Time Signature: 4/8", but the first time signature i's actually 11/8, occasionally ⅞ and in one single measure 8/8; nowhere in the document is 4/8. From where does Finale get this misinformation?
The window further claims that the following fonts are being used: Arial, Broadway Copyist, Broadway Copyist Perc, Engraver Font Set, Engraver Text T, Finale AlphaNotes, Finale Lyrics, Helvetica, Jazz, JazzPerc, JazzText, Lucida Grande, Maestro, Maestro Percussion, Seville, Symbol, Times, Times New Roman, Times New Roman Italic. As far as I know, I only use (and only have ever used) the Engraver Font, Maestro and Times New Roman. Are all the other fonts really in use and do they not make the document or the PDF print of the document heavier that strictly necessary? Why does Finale incorporate fonts for which no one has any need in a document?
To be fair, at least all the other given info is correct. Remains nonetheless the question how useful that info actually is.
How useful is the file info?

The file was created from scratch, that is with the set up wizard, and both tempo and time signature were set in the wizard panels. I have no idea whatsoever from where Finale derives the erroneous information.

Take a look at the attached file. I set it up from scratch using the Wizard - 11/8, eighth note = 208, key of E flat. The Info pane correctly lists all of these settings.
I find the file info pretty much useless and have never used it. It's just as easy to open a file and take a look at the first page. I'd suggest if you're worried about this, contact Make Music–send them your file and tell them of your concerns.
