Measure 3 is blank and measure 1 is blank (in the Trumpet part). Maybe we need a bit more description about what you want.

It copies fine for me. You have too many beats in the 3rd measure of the Flute, so when it pastes into the Trumpet, it fixes that by changing the half rest into a quarter rest.

Thank you very much, zuill,

it happened to me from time to time and now I see the reason.
In order to place a whole rest in a 3/4 Time I do
Simple/Simple entry options/ uncheck "check for extra notes
so when I paste that measure with a whole rest it does't fit into the aiming measure

I guess I also misspoke. Copying changes the whole measure rest to a half plus a quarter rest, thus not overfilling the measure.

If I were you I would reset the staff attribute "display rests in empty measures" and forget about putting in whole rests. The only time I use real whole rests is if I want a fermata on them.

Real whole rests will also prevent multimeasure rests in the part, clearly undesirable.
