I put a topic about Snare Drum some time ago. Zuill gently answered but eventually I couldn't find any solution because of my version of Aria Player.
This topic is related to that one, but is different.

I have found that temporarily changing the instrument sound fixes the problem every time. For instance, if Standard Drums go silent, I (1) select Fusion, (2) play a measure and then (3) go back into Score Manager and change the selection back to Standard. For me , this fix works for all instruments. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your time, Djard. It doesn't work in my case, though

I think I solved the problem this way (for both instruments it's the same solution:

1) Windows/Score manager/Instrument list/ Device column
In the CYMBALS I changed from ARIA PLAYER to SMARTMUSIC Softsystem

In the SNARE DRUM I changed from ARIA PLAYER to SMARTMUSIC Softsystem

Glad you won the battle. I forgot about Aria Player requiring editing in VST playback. Getting Finale to utilize Aria Player's superior soundfonts is a game I play, which I manage to succeed only after trial and error. I select Aria in Score Manager then must go back into the VST Playback settings, and then back into Score Manager.

If I ever remember the steps, I will definitely take advantage of the better sounds, even though Aria's playback volume is horribly low. But I make up for the deficit in Audacity...adding some compression.
