Hello lovely people,

I am new to this forum, because I have a question. I use Finale 25.4.

The first 3 bars of my example show what I am struggling with. Bar 1-3 have been notated in Tablature and copied into standard notation. The "c" on the 8th fret of the high e-string and the "c" on the 5th fret of the g-string ( ) are notated as the same pitch, which is wrong. But when I notate all the "c" 's like in Bar 1, they are translated correctly into standard notation.

I am furthermore working on a transcription of Knocking on Heavens Door and I am not able to copy music correctly from standard notation (which I prefer to write in initially) to tablature. Not only does Finale show me "negative" fret numbers, it also does not seem to matter, in which octave the lick is originally notated.

Can you help me?

A big thank you in advance,

Greetings from Germany, Freiburg.

Thomas

Just a thought:

Take a look at
Preferences - Edit

Is the option {Respect Instrument Ranges when Copying or Changing Instruments} selected or de-selected?

I have that option unchecked, and it seems to work as it should.

Holy Moly! That works! Thank you!

I know how to change one note to another string, is there also a way to move a whole bar down or up a string?
