Hello all,
Windows 10, finale version number 26
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong – however if I'm creating a phrase and I want to move everything up and octave – I believe a press nine and everything goes up as planned :-)

BUT, when I want to bring everything down one octave – finale insist going down two octaves.
Please keep in mind: I did check through utilities and everything is marked one octave up or down. Diatonic. Thoughts? I attached a sample file as an example.

9 goes up an octave, 8 goes down an octave for me, as it should. It sounds like you may have reprogrammed the 8 key.

With the Selection Tool selected, type shift-command-8.

How is it set? Is it possible you have it programmed for down an octave PLUS an octave? The "Plus" box should have a zero in it.

I had a similar problem because I forgot to select the interval. Finale saves the last interval selected for all open documents, until closed. The default setting is Unision, diatonically up.
