This is probably known to everyone in the Finale world but me, but just in case there is another user out there who doesn't know this trick: if one selects a articulation or expression handle, one can replace the marking in place by double-tapping the appropriate metatool. For example, say one has inserted the finger number 1 with a 1 key metatool; one can replace it with a 2 by selecting its handle and then double-tapping the 2 key metatool. Good golly, if only I had known this years ago!

You're right, motet, "clicking" is confusing. I had wondered about the word choice. I went back and edited it with the "double-tapping."
But did you know this trick? I could find nothing about it in the documentation.

Thanks for reminding me about that. I recall to have heard of that technique years ago, but I seldom used it.
The following paragraph on this page is also interesting and perhaps even less known: The "Add Again" Metatool
It's mentioned e.g. in the FInale 2014 manual: To change an existing marking to a different one using a MetatoolJohn Ruggero wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 10:35 pmBut did you know this trick? I could find nothing about it in the documentation.

Thanks, HaraldS. There it is, as plain as day in the documentation. And the "add again" capability sounds intriguing as well. Could be time to read through the documentation for some other tips I've missed along the way!
