Is it the case that if you open an old document in 26.2 the ties look bad? Or is it more subtle than that?

They now have updater 26.2.1 for the 2 issues at hand. David Cusick takes these things seriously as this update was important, especially in the code improvements.

About the ties, I believe only the Horizontal Tie End for Under/Over Note was at issue. I'm sure they checked other tie settings while they were at it. Anyway, before the new update, ties were not extending all the way to the note, despite the setting. In fact, no matter what you changed the setting to, it was ignored, in any document. It appears the program was not responding to that particular setting, thus the behavior.

The other issue had similar mis-behavior. When choosing to have Finale respect manual Grace Note positioning (Selecting Keep Current), Finale ignored that option. Now, things are back to what they were before the v26.2 initial release. 26.2.1 fixed both of these programming errors, which I think were breakdowns in communication between the document settings and the program itself.

Beat me to the punch
The 26.2.1 hot fix has been released, so you can go to the Check for Updates option in Finale and get the update. This addresses the grace note music spacing ... as well as the default tie placement issue.

Yet another bug in the new version: Rehearsal Marks Category in the Expression Selection suddenly lost all copies of Numbered lists (in auto-sequencing style). New items in that category are not saved with the file. Saving the text expressions library does not help.

I suppose we need an exact description of the behavior. Even better would be a file to examine. I don't have any issues, so, in order to hunt down the problem, we need to be able to run specific steps.
