Hi all,

In page layout tool, I'm trying to figure out what handle I can grab to drag the top staff down the page a bit. For the second and further staves, there's a handle on the right on the top of each staff that I can drag, but nothing for the top staff. The one on the upper left doesn't work because it drags the down the first staff as well as the title and page number. (I'd like to add a little space between the title/page number and the top staff.)

THanks!
Geoff

The handles are for adjusting the page and system margins (sounds like you're dragging the top page margin handle). To move a system, click-drag on the middle of the system rather than a handle. Ctrl-click-drag (or Mac equivalent) to move just that system. Plain click-drag to move that system and all below it.

Are you certain that this works just the same on Macs, Motet?

It's option (alt) click on a Mac to move just the one system (at least until the margins collide, if you want to drag further you'll have to reduce the top and/or bottom margins).

Not sure if I am echoing what already has been said, but I select the Staff tool then drag the staff handle (just above the clef) up or down. No need to hold down Shift key. Use the the up/down arrows keys if you wish to nudge the staff up or down.
