Working on a large project for a client. 62-page document, and they have asked to increase notehead size by 10%. I used the Resize Notheads Plug-in, no problem, realizing that we would need to do some checking and adjusting for new collisions. However, I did not realize that resizing noteheads would also resize all accompanying accidentals, creating more collisions than I anticipated.
The resize tool would require a click-by-click solution, which would be an insane amount of hours to implement. Is it simply common practice for the accidentals to be a certain size in relation to their accompanying noteheads?
My main question: Is there a way to globally resize accidentals? OR, to resize noteheads without affecting accidentals?
Thank you,
Neil

With Jari's JW Change plugin, try resizing the noteheads to 110%, then resizing the accidentals to 90%.

P.S.: I suppose slightly less than 90% would be better. I guess you'll have to figure the math yourself.

Just curious - what is the reason for resizing noteheads and not accidentals? If it's to make the music larger, it's better to resize the entire staff for parts, or the system size for scores.

I have taken over a project from another editor, and I'm pretty new to this part of the work (though I have notated my own scores for years). The client noticed that the noteheads in the font used by the prior editor were smaller than those used in larger publications (Henle, FJH, etc.) and asked if I could make the change. I sent them some samples and they were happy. I just noticed the accidental issue, which is causing more new collisions than I initially witnessed in the samples I created. Re-sizing the staves would require a complete make-over of the book's layout. Just making the client happy at this point.N Grossingink wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 9:35 amJust curious - what is the reason for resizing noteheads and not accidentals? Thanks, everyone! The JW Change plug-in was exactly what I needed. I'm also very happy to learn about these plug-ins, as I was not familiar with them yet. Awesome stuff!

Regarding resizing the noteheads by 10%, I think it is a bit problematic in that space notes now have the notehead bleeding past the line, which I think is unbecoming. For my money, a better choice is keeping the font size, but changing the notehead to Maestro Wide. Now, I'm assuming you're using Maestro, which might not be the case.
