I've been noticing the graphics I'm inserting (eps files) are going overtop of the notes whereas I'd like them underneath (to emerge out of the note). They're black but for some reason in Finale they show up w/ a white pinstripe shadow around the black which is noticeable. This would likely be fixed if the notes can move on top. Any way to adjust this?

No. We have long asked for “move forward / move back” for graphics, but no joy.

Hard to know what you're talking about without seeing it. What you see on the screen is not necessarily how it will print, so try that first. You might also be able to give the graphic a transparent background.

Bummer. Rather fundamental one would think. They need to get it together, this is essentially a graphics program after all, albeit extremely specialized. It's 2020 and the eps files still look bloated and blurry.

The graphics do have a transparent background but you're right I haven't tried printing yet. Still, I need to also provide this as a PDF so it needs to look good there as well. I suppose I'll just have to go and clean it up again in Illustrator or whatever. I'll also add the final graphics there. I just did a quick test and they look crisp. Prefer to just have it right from the get-go in Finale but alas its not meant to be at this point.

By "print" I include PDF (don't use Finale's built-in PDF exporter, but rather "print" to PDF). It's worth a try before fiddling with Adobe Illustrator.
