Hi Forum,

I'm looking for the notehead in the pic. I either can't find or don't have it in the Symbol Selection Page.

Can somebody give me a hand?

Thx.

Maestro Percussion has that character.

It's not in the Maestro font. It is, however, in Maestro Percussion (and a number of others.) I can't however, figure out how to access them from either the Change... Noteheads or JW Change. Can you do it as an expression?

The Change utility for noteheads doesn't allow for choosing a different font. JW Change does, but you have to first change the font, then choose Custom notehead. Special Tools is another way to do it. No need to do it as an expression.

I know that JW Change lets you choose a custom font, but it appeared to be limited to a list that appeared. I’ll check that again, and look at the special tools, as well.

Note Shape tool, click in the measure, then right-click on the note's handle.

But in JW Change, use Custom Font instead of Font (why are there both?). Then use Custom Shape to pick the symbol.

I should have specified Custom Font. Sorry. I think he has Font to pick the most often used fonts. the Custom Font is to give all possible fonts.

Yes! Once again I have to say, FinaleForum, I came locking for a coin and I left with a stash.

Thanks everyone!

I did this not that long ago but it took me a while to arrive at the right-click. I understand that Finale introduced the right-click menus as being more intuitive, but they aren't really, or at least not always, as most of the program's utilities are menu-bar-based. Well, why complain? I found out at last. You might call it the charm of an old, knotty software.
