I have a C chord on the downbeat that is an 8th note in length but it involves an embellishment of a D note 16th to an E note within the chord. Perhaps I could notate the D to E as a grace note, but I'm not sure how to do that in Finale.

Thanks Miker! That was really helpful.

In the tab I would like to indicate a hammer-on from the grace note to the note in the chord but when I try the slur tool in the smart shapes I can't get the slur to behave and simply go from the D to the E note in the chord.

With the slur tool, double click on the grace note. Let the slur go where it will. Then click on the slur, and you can drag and resize it as you like.

The H is from the Guitar Articulations library, in the Tablature folder.
