Hi,
I have pages (f.ex) 6 and 7 with one measure per system, I would like to have 2 measures per system without changing anything in pages 8 till the end. When I tried to do this edit, pages 8 till the end changed losing all the previous edition.
Thanks in advance

Without seeing the file, its hard to imagine exactly what you are trying to accomplish. If you're trying to move measures from system to system, that is one thing. If you are wanting to insert blank measures, that is another. There can be different approaches, depending on the need. Locking systems, inserting a page break, or inserting a system all come to mind. We are only guessing without seeing what you are seeing.

If nothing is to be changed from page 8 on, then are we to assume the 2 measures per system on 6 and 7 use measures coming from page 5? It's hard to imagine without more detail. Can you post a sample file with specific instructions as to the end result?

No, they came from page 6 and 7, which will become page 6. And 8 will be 7 (but with any difference, just the page number)

Here’s two files, before and after.
If you make pages 2 and 3 into one page with 2 measure per system, look what happens to the new page 4.

Arturo,
All systems are locked - right?
From your description is sounds like you need to reduce the total number of systems, so that two pages (= Page 6 & 7) become only one page (= Page 6) - right?
But this also means that Page 8 will become Page 7, and the systems on that page (and onwards) will get a lower {system number}.
My guess is that you have customized the system layout on the following pages - right?
To avoid that the customized system layout is shifted to another system, use the Page Layout Tool to delete systems.
Example:
On Page 6, in the second system, insert an empty measure at the end of the system.
This step will not affect the layout in the following systems - since the total number of systems remains the same.
Push the non-empty measure up into the previous system.
This step will not affect the layout in the following systems - since the total number of systems remains the same.
Now the first system contains two non-empty measures.
And the second system contains the empty measure.
Use the Page Layout menu to delete the empty second system.
This step will not affect the layout in the following systems - since you delete a system.
(system deletion is different from measure deletion)

When you compacted three pages into 2, pages 4 and 5 are now pages 3 and 4, as is expected. What would you like to see instead?

Insert the measure stack at the beginning of the following system.
Then, move the inserted measure up into the previous system (double-click the measure, and hit the UpArrow key).
Now the measure will be at the end of the previous system.

So I need to repeat this step with every system right ?
Is this a bug ? it should be more simple right ?
Thanks Peter.

Yes.
No, not a bug - since Finale is working as described in the manual.
In Other Words:
Finale is designed to work in this way.
Instead of calling it ‘a bug’ I would rather call it ‘Inconvenient Design’.
I agree.
