This is the last bar of a long-finished piece, but I tried to copy something and "add measures" to the end, and it won't do it.....or rather, it produces what you see here. Tried "clear selected items: page break" but no dice. Very curious what the issue is.

Following what Motet wrote, if you change the page and system margins so p. 2 has the same settings as p. 1 then everything spreads out nicely.

Okay, I sort of gave up on this since I figured heck, it's one messed-up part, don't have the issue w/anything else, but....just returned to this piece, and I really need to resolve it. Final few pages are a mess, and I can't figure out how to reset the page format.
Can you explain how I do this? Specifically? Maybe a screen shot? Thanks.Bill Stevens wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 6:05 pmFollowing what Motet wrote, if you change the page and system margins so p. 2 has the same settings as p. 1 then everything spreads out nicely.

Okay....figured it out! I did what Bill suggested: I checked the system margins in Page Layout Tool for page 1, went to where the margins were way off, and changed the settings to match what was indicated in page 1. All back to normal. Yay! Don't know how things got botched originally, but now I know how to fix it. Thanks Motet/Bill/everyone.

However.....I see this happens when I go to "Add Measures"......the new added measures have the weird page'/margin formatting. How can I change this? Doesn't seem to be any way to "select" the new added pages and change anything.

Now I see one bar askew in the middle of the piece. Plus the wacky bars at the end. I don't understand how to "fix that." Can I please get a step-by-step? Spent a lot of time trying to figure it out; can't get it right; it keeps cropping up somewhere else in the score. Is there some way to reset everything??

Get Document/Page Format right, then go to the Page Layout tool and pick Redefine Pages/All Pages. To see the default page format settings, which are reasonable, create a default document and look at those.
