Staff Styles bug still not fixed?
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
Working on the linked parts to a job, and I was disappointed to bring up the drum set part and see that the staff styles didn't translate over to the part. Surely, they did something to fix this since 2012 (where I think the bug first showed its ugly head)?

I think the change has to do with copying measures from one place to another.
To assign the staff style assigned in the score to the part as well: Edit the score; go to the staff tool; click on the gray bar indicating the applied staff style--it should turn color; then right-click and pick Use Selected Staff Style for Score and Parts.

When you copy measures with a staff style in the score, and that staff style is marked "copyable," and, if using the copy filter, "Staff styles" is checked, then they say it should be copied to the part as well. What's unclear is, if the measures being copied have only applied the staff style to the score and not the part (which is possible), the staff style is only copied in the score, which one would hope is how it works.
It's easy enough to experiment and find out. Why don't you do that and report?

Oh, that last measure is definitely how it works, because one of my first attempts to fix the problem was to copy the entire drum part and paste it in the part, in the hopes that the staff styles would copy over. They did not.
I'll have to start experimenting. 99% of my work is typesetting classical music for composers, but I occasionally get jazz arranging jobs. It's rare enough that I forget about these bugs and get reminded when it happens, unlike the other bugs I deal with so much with a specific avant-garde composer, I'm already avoiding the bugs without thinking about them anymore because it's a time-saver. I think I have about ten more charts with this one project, so let's hope I remember to try this on the next chart.
