Can't hear percussion

Postby tdlucas » Sun Jun 10, 2018 11:12 pm

I am trying to write a short piece that includes nonpitched percussion instruments like maracas and wood block, but they are so soft I can barely hear them. No matter what dynamic I give them, they are barely audible.

I just want to lay down a short audio track for a video. Was Finale not intended to be used for creating audio tracks? Any suggestions?

There are a couple techniques I have used. One is to make sure they are in a different bank, and then crank up the volume of the channel and the bank.

Check back if that is not enough. Garritan percussion tends to be on the soft side.
