Hello,

I'm a long time Finale user. My current version is 2014.5.

Recently I had difficulty to generate WAV files from 2 .musx files: 1250 KB and 1190 KB

Both files are VST audio. I used the following path: File/Export/Audio file/

The larger file (1250 KB) generated a WAV after 2 tries.
The smaller file (1190 KB) has failed after multiple tries. It engages but fails to advance past 0 on the Time: 00:00:00.000

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

If the file plays back properly, but fails to export to wav, it's hard to say what's up. You can play the file in real time and capture the playback with Audacity, or a similar audio program. Possibly your preferences need regenerating.

I try experimenting when things like this happen. Save a duplicate of your file for backup and then try deleting measures and see if the wav export works at any point. Sometimes it's the processing that gets hung up by something unexpected in the score.

Thank you Zuill for your response.

I tried your experiment about 2 days ago. Made a copy and deleted measures until a WAV was generated (about 30 measures from the end). I then reentered 2 measures at a time, testing as I went. After 10 measures, the file failed to generate a WAV. The original file plays without a problem.

As to preferences, I have never modified them. But I will cross check with the file that generated (1250 KB) to see if there are any changes.

Just an update:

After enough experimentation, I downloaded Audacity. Worked fine. No issues.
