Playback tempo irregularities

I have a song from a previous version.
I have copied the tracks into a new score in the current version.

Everything plays well up to ONE POINT, where the tempo just slows down to less than largo.

I deleted several measures around the strange measure, inserted new measures, and manually re-entered the several measures of notes.
The entire song played JUST RIGHT in tempo.

I saved the file to being final playback editing.

Then when I played the saved file the less than largo tempo change occurred again.
Is there some way to wipe any playback alterations for a section of a piece, and then start over from 'regular time' in modifying the tempo alterations?
