If I have click-assigned lyrics to notes, and want to un-assign certain lyrics from certain notes, how do I do that? Using type-into-score and deleting lyrics also deletes them from the edit lyrics boxes which I don't want. Version is 2007.

Thanks

Lyrics menu > Adjust Syllables

Click in the staff vertically above or below the entry (or on a primary notehead in the entry).
Two handles appear on the syllable.
The handles won't appear if you click too far to the right or the left.

Click the lower handle to select it, and hit delete.
The syllable no longer displays in the score, but you can still see it in the window Edit Lyrics.

That should do it.

Just curious:
If you don't want it to display, why did you enter it in the window Edit Lyrics in the first place?
Some sort of comments to yourself about the lyrics?

It's a fuguing (sp?) tune where I hit ctrl-click under click assignment and the computer went crazy with where it put some of the lyrics. A lot of them jumped onto the tenor line from the soprano and I didn't want to start all over.

Also I have trouble correctly dividing syllables when I type the lyrics initially (spotting two syllable words and inserting a hyphen where it belongs) so sometimes things get messed up that way.

Thanks
