Hello,
Is analog recording (with a microphone) possible with Finale 2008?
Thanks,

Digital recording is more or less the standard today, since the preferred media are digital: disc, harddisk &c.
I'm not sure why you want to make an analog recording.
Are you recording to tape?
Anyway, Finale can playback your masterpiece through the computer's loudspeaker, but you can connect the output cable directly to a tape recorder.
In that way you don't need to record Finale's playback into a microphone in front of the computer's loudspeaker, so you can avoid microphone noise.

Thank you for the reply!
I think I didn't use the right terminology
. I meant if I can use a microphone to record a non digital instrument.
I found out yesterday Finale 2008 has this option for woodwind instruments. I haven't tried it out yet. It is not clear to me why only woodwind instruments. I do have a flute, but also a violin.
And a digital piano I can connect to the computer.
I will see how it goes.
