Here's a crazy bug someone on Facebook discovered. If you specify b-flat minor for the first key here, ties won't show across the key change and system break for the transposing trumpet (they do appear if there's no system break). If you used D-flat Major instead, though, the ties show up as expected

Might need to see a Finale file. Are you going to F# minor or A? Also, the bottom not of the Flute part is going from F to E, so that shouldn't be a tie. I know that doesn't address the trumpet issue, but knowing the type of key for the 3 sharps is needed.

Finale file is attached above. It breaks whether to F# minor or A major. I initially copied the Flute from the Trumpet; something got screwed up at some point, but it's irrelevant--the flute doesn't have a problem.

One oddity is that if you choose to Display in Concert Pitch, using the playback controls, the ties appear during playback, then disappear when playback stops. HP needs to be set to something other than None.

If you go to Concert Pitch and apply the tie, it sticks when you go back to Transposed Pitch. However, entering and exiting Speedy Entry in that measure will cause them to disappear again, even though they play back correctly.

Odd. Well, as I say, avoiding minor key signatures seems to fix it. I personally never use Finale's minor key signatures--I use the relative major even though the music may be in a minor key. Perhaps with MIDI entry and using spelling tables knowing it's a minor key might help, but is there any other advantage? I also recall some extra key cancellations in some situations which are probably undesirable to me.
